Elegant Spanish sweetness meets spirited Yorkshire character, as our light and fruity distillery style matures in ex-Moscatel Sherry Hogsheads.

Whilst sherries like Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso are well known in single malt whisky maturation, Moscatel is much more rare and unusual. Moscatel grapes are known for floral aromas. The grapes thrive in sandy soil and Moscatel vineyards are close to the beaches in the sherry region of Spain – making it a perfect match for our Filey Bay whisky, made here on the Yorkshire Coast.

Our Unique Solera Method

Made using our unique solera-style approach which is, more accurately, a fractional blending method. Everytime we bottle Filey Bay Moscatel Sherry Cask, we replace it with older casks carefully selected from the warehouse. This keeps the flavour profile consistent, while allowing the whisky to gain age, depth and complexity. It’s a true reflection of our distillery as it matures.
