Distilling: Filey Bay Sherry Cask Reserve #6

It’s that time of year again – we’re delighted to introduce Filey Bay Sherry Cask Reserve #6 Special Release.

Our sixth release in this annual series, this single malt has been matured in first-fill ex-Oloroso casks from deep within our warehouse. With a beautifully rich colour and fruity treacle flavour profile, it’s the perfect way to finish the year.

The last Filey Bay Sherry Cask Reserve that was pure Oloroso was the first Sherry Cask Reserve, back in 2020. Whisky Director Joe has been very excited about bottling this release – “not only is the colour spectacular but the depth and character of the spirit is a once in 5 year release.”

Oloroso sherry is known for its complexity and character, with nutty, fruity notes that sit at the darker end of the sweet-shop flavour spectrum. It really complements our light distillery character, with rich, treacle flavours singing out.

Tasting Notes: Rich and complex with flavours of black treacle, fruitcake, blackcurrant jam and cola sweets.
